My Grandpa Cafe, a charitable cafe located in Muar, Malaysia, embodies the spirit of SDG Goal 8: Decent Work and Economic Growth. Founded by Venus Phuah (Kiwanis Club of Muar Immediate Past President), the cafe not only creates employment opportunities for the local community but also fosters a strong sense of social responsibility. Thirty percent (30%) of their profits directly support the Kiwanis Club of Muar (KC Muar), a recognized leader in community development. KC Muar is known for its impactful programs that directly benefit children with special needs, including providing training and employment opportunities.

This impactful partnership goes beyond just financial support. The Kiwanis Club of Muar works directly with My Grandpa Cafe to train and integrate young adults with special needs into the workforce. This provides these individuals with valuable skills, fosters independence, and allows them to contribute to the community in a meaningful way.

By supporting KC Muar, My Grandpa Cafe contributes to initiatives that improve the lives of children with special needs in various ways:

• Funding specialized therapies and educational programs (estimated to impact potentially 100 children annually).

• Providing essential equipment and resources, potentially benefiting 30 children with special needs in KC Muar.

• Organizing events and activities that promote inclusion and social interaction, reaching over 5000 children per year.

• Training and employing young adults with special needs at My Grandpa Cafe (potentially 26 individuals annually).

This impactful partnership demonstrates how My Grandpa Cafe goes beyond simply offering delicious food and drinks. By choosing My Grandpa Cafe, customers directly contribute to a cause that empowers and uplifts vulnerable children and young adults in the Muar community.
